Walkable Neighborhoods

I recently moved to a new neighborhood in DC and found a great place with my girlfriend. When I first moved to this city, I was already pleasantly surprised and I lived in a pretty cool neighborhood for the first couple of years, but man, this new neighborhood is beyond my expectations. I can't imagine there being a better walkable neighborhood.

Granted, at this point I only have my daughter every couple of weeks. But even if we were still married and had a couple more kids, I would still want to be here. Not just for me, but for them as well. However, that kicks off conflicting thoughts I have as to what is the best environment for them. It's hard to argue that being in the country with a farm and open space for kids to explore is hard to beat. But I think it's an equally strong argument for a kid to live in a city surrounded by different cultures, public transportation, and the whole city vibe. Which is better? I'm not really sure to be honest. For me, right now, it's living in the city.
